Working under the supervision of the Discipline Chairs for the departments of Surgery, Psychiatry, and Emergency Medicine the full-time Administrative Assistant performs a wide range of administrative and office support activities for the department and/or supervisors to facilitate the efficient operation of the organization.  Provide quality administrative support by displaying sound judgment, accuracy, diplomacy, confidentiality and discretion.

The Application Services Specialist and Admissions Recruiter is responsible for working both with the Director for Application Services and the Director for Admissions, as well as the Associate Dean for Student Affairs. The candidate will be instrumental in the initial application processing for VCOM–Louisiana campus including reviewing and selecting candidates for secondary applications based on established criterion, coding students, recalculating GPAs, downloading information, and creating reports. The Assistant Program Director for Academic Affairs plans, directs, and oversees Anesthesiologist Assistant student academic affairs and activities, ensuring they meet the Program and University’s mission, goals, and objectives.  Assist in coordinating the academic and clinical education of the Anesthesiologist Assistant students with the goal of educating students to act as competent entry level anesthesia providers and as professional members of the health care industry.  Assist the Program Director in providing leadership and direction for the Master of Health Science in Anesthesia Program.  Responsible for coordination of the didactic components of the Program curriculum.

The Office of the Registrar serves as the official custodian of student records, in a manner that is consistent with the College’s mission, accreditation, and licensure standards.  Under the direction of the Registrar, the Assistant Registrar assists with all facets of the Office of the Registrar, as well as other various administrative duties necessary to the efficient operation of the Office.   The Assistant Registrar will assume all duties in the absence of the Registrar.  

The primary responsibility of the Associate Dean for Biomedical Affairs and Research is to assure the campus fulfills the research mission of the college. As a primary responsibility, the successful candidate will lead the Biomedical Division and faculty in research, assuring the role of the faculty within that Division in the success of the research mission of the College. The Director of Admissions – Virginia Campus is responsible for the administration of the admissions process on the Virginia Campus and is also responsible for the recruitment of prospective students through speaking engagements, personal contacts, and special presentations (when recruiting the Director represents all campuses).

The Director will develop and implement recruiting strategies in Virginia and manage the Ambassador program for the Virginia Campus.  To accomplish this, the Director manages and coordinates all interview days, open houses, accepted student days and events, and information sessions; establishes and maintains professional contacts with pre-health advisors and association representatives; screens all completed campus applications

The Director for Development and Alumni Relations – VCOM Auburn is responsible for implementing a strategic plan for development and alumni programs to support the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine, Auburn Campus (VCOM-Auburn) and it’s mission. The Director is charged with the implementation and coordination of a comprehensive advancement program that integrates fundraising, alumni relations and stewardship.

Under the direction of the Vice President for Development and Alumni Relations (who oversees all 4 VCOM campuses), the Director will work closely with VCOM-Auburn alumni, local corporations, foundations, healthcare systems, and other key constituents to assure the recognition of VCOM’s contribution

The position of Director for International and Appalachian Outreach Programs provides coordination of VCOM’s international and Appalachian outreach activities on the Carolinas campus, reporting to the Vice Provost for International and Appalachian Outreach, and, in some instances for Appalachian and Delta Outreach, the Campus Dean.  The Director is primarily responsible for coordinating all documents, preparation, and coordination of international and local outreach trips and follow-up.  The Director also assists with the coordination of other departmental activities such as meetings, communications, and assisting with some research data and evaluations.

Oversee the third-year students, Site Coordinators, and work in conjunction with the Clinical Assessment Coordinator in the processes and requirements of clinical rotations. The Director of Admissions - Carolinas is responsible for the administration of the entire admissions process on the Carolinas Campus. This position is also responsible for the direct recruitment of prospective students through speaking engagements, personal contacts and special presentations. The position provides the oversight of the Simulation and Technology Center’s state of the art simulators, high fidelity mannequins, and laboratories and the implementation of the educational programs utilizing the technology within the Center for medical student resident, allied health, and physician education. The position's prime directive is to functionalize the simulated curriculum with goal of improving  measurable participant outcomes. A Standardized Patient (SP) is someone who is trained to portray a scripted medical scenario in a simulated clinical setting.
